| Yet another book I picked up going cheap in the Works. "Secret Wisdom" by Ruth Clydesdale, 2009. It begins with the Orphic mysteries in Greece and ends with W B Yeats, and shows the thread between the two including the neo-platonists, Persian magic, Renaissance magic, Alchemy, Dante, Blake and not forgetting the various Occultist and groups of the 19th and 20th century. Well written and in sufficient depth for you to appreciate the ebbing and flowing of occult ideas through the centuries. I suppose you could say it's the history of ideas that the rational, technological world dismisses but which never disappear as they are too true to be forgotten. 208 pages, lots of B&W pictures, selected bibliography.
